The checklist
- Brakes: pad thickness, rotor condition, lever feel, and the motor-cutoff sensors
- Drivetrain: chain wear (use a gauge — e-bike torque stretches chains fast), degrease, lube, derailleur tuning
- Wheels: spoke tension and trueness (hub motors are hard on spokes), tire wear and pressure
- Bolts: racks, stem, motor mounts, torque arms — torqued to spec
- Battery health: real range vs. rated, charge time vs. new, contacts clean, no swelling or heat
- Electrical: connectors seated and dry, cable routing not chafing, display/firmware updates where the brand supports them
